Chris Evans’ ‘fab food haven’

Someone once said to me never buy your local pub. If you do, then your haven becomes your nightmare. (Everyone knows that a good pub or restaurant is really owned by the customers anyway, the official "owners" are merely the custodians that look after the place from one generation to the next.) It was with this in mind that I did indeed resist the purchasing of my local. Instead I bought a pub nine miles away; however I then, completely by chance, bought a house round the corner. I now owned my local pub, d'oh!

I love food and I love eating out, I am in no way an expert restaurateur but I am happy to claim to be an expert customer. It is with the help of this many years of extensive "research" that I have sat in my pub and said yes, this is somewhere I would like to sit, scoff and soak up what's on offer.
