Salisbury Pubs

The Swan Inn - Denham
The Swan Inn is a charming wisteria-clad gastro pub located in tranquil Denham, close to the M25 and M40: it's an ideal venue if you are looking to temporarily escape the rat race or re-charge the batteries during a journey

The Alford Arms - Berkhamsted
The original of the group of four; local, free-range and organic produce are used to good effect and the seasonal menu divides up into 'small plates' (popular with the ladies who lunch) and 'main meals'
David and Becky Salisbury's quartet of enterprising country pubs has taken the Home Counties by storm and they have stuck to the guns when it comes to quality and atmosphere. These are 'proper pubs' serving proper food and drink to a growing band of enthusiastic followers.

Their pubs are still honest watering holes, but their trump card is on the plate: they are committed to using local and organic produce and are on track as regards green credentials.

The Old Queens Head - High Wycombe
The dining room dates from 1666, but it's seen a lot of improvements over the years. Warm heritage fabrics, flagstones, cosy corners and real fires create just the right atmosphere

The Royal Oak - Bovingdon Green
Inside, it has all the familiar Country Living trappings - a snug with a wood-burning stove, dark polished floorboards, rich fabrics - and there's a sprawling garden outside with a sunny terrace
