Restaurants in Newcastle upon Tyne

The Geordie stronghold of Newcastle is riding high as one of the most exciting and high-decibel cities in the UK. It's still defined by the River Tyne and its emblematic bridge, but there is gastronomic action right across the city.

The regenerated Quayside is a hotbed of restaurants, cafés and clubs, and there is much more to savour in suburban neighbourhoods like Jesmond.

Newcastle's bullish mood is also spilling over into areas such as Gateshead, and new restaurants are springing up in its wake.
