The old image of Leeds is one of industrial landscapes, massive clothing factories and urban sprawl. However, when Harvey Nichols decided to open a store in the city it was a sure sign that things were about to change; it triggered a wave of upbeat regeneration - which is reflected in the burgeoning number of top-class restaurants, brasseries & hotels.

These days, Leeds encompasses everything from the historic Kirkgate Market to the stunning Millennium Square development, which opened on cue in the year 2000.
