Review on Malmaison
Malmaison in Aberdeen is located a short drive from Union Square Shopping Centre, the twelfth addition to this national group of boutique hotels. The hotel, formerly the Queen's Hotel has been transformed into a luxurious hotel whilst retaining part of the original facade.
The restaurant overlooked by the open kitchen features intimate booths with Scottish artwork adorning the walls and when the weather is warm, you can enjoy dining on the alfresco terrace with stunning views of the Aberdeen skyline. The kitchen is committed to sourcing local ingredients of the highest quality with steak from royal warrant-holding suppliers, Donald Russell and they even have their own butchery.
The menus offer modern brasserie-style dishes along the lines of hot chicken skewers, soy, chilli and lime dipping sauce or tuna fillet carpaccio, avocado and pickled cucumber. Main courses take in seared yellow fin tuna steak, warm Niçoise salad or half a roast Normandy chicken, broad beans and morels.
If you fancy something simpler, choose the Mal burger with homemade relish and fries, while desserts could range from baked New York cheesecake with blueberries to a classic vanilla crème brûlée.
