Review on The Alderley Bar & Grill
Spread over two floors in the bustling, moneyed village of Alderley Edge, this cosmopolitan venue offers the prospect of casual lounging and dining downstairs, with more intimate entertaining and an open kitchen on the first floor. The use of light oak, leather and zinc helps to create just the right mood, whether you are looking for a cup of coffee or a full meal.
The menu is an eclectic mix of fusion, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern ideas that aim to tantalise the palate. Thai prawn cakes with sweet chilli sauce might open the show alongside baked mushrooms with goats' cheese and caponata, while main courses could feature colourful ideas such as smoked haddock and leek risotto, crispy duck with Chinese greens, char-grilled burgers and tandoori sea bass with mint yoghurt. Finish off with, say, chocolate fudge pudding or Malteser ice cream. Mezze and Asian 'plates' are available to share, sandwiches are served from 12.00 - 6.00pm and the wine list has a good choice of quaffable stuff at realistic prices.
