Review on Copper & Spice
Copper & Spice in Limerick is a good-looking restaurant housed in a restored mill overlooking the Mulcair River. Inside, it makes an immediate impact with its bright orange frontage and contemporary open-plan dιcor. Polished wood floors, bare brick walls, vivid colours and abstract artwork set the scene and the menu is a stimulating mix of Indian regional specialities and curry house standards with specialities from Thailand, Japan and beyond.
Starters might range from lamb samosas or paneer rolls to sesame prawn toasts or Korean kalbi (marinated pork ribs served with fiery gochujang chilli paste and pickled vegetables). Moving on, there are biryanis, rogan josh and king prawn jalfrezi as well as beef teriyaki, Thai green curries and Singaporean laksa lemak (a coconut broth with chicken, prawns, fried tofu and more besides).
Also check out the monthly specials (stir-fried beef panang or chicken breast in aromatic gravy with fennel seeds and pistachios, for example). Sunday lunch is a leisurely, family-friendly buffet.
