Review on The French Paradox
Combining the virtues of a wine shop, tasting room, bar and deli under one roof, the French Paradox brings a taste of rural France to the Ballsbridge district of Dublin. On the ground floor, visitors can dip into a list of around 150 exclusive tipples, many of which are available by the glass (thanks to inert gas preservation).
To go with the wine, there's an array of snacks, French and Spanish charcuterie, cheeses and shared plates, plus omelettes and salads (endive, celery, blue cheese and walnut, for example), backed up by classic desserts such as chocolate fondant or crème brûlée with Pineau des Charentes.
You can also purchase wines and all sorts of goodies (from chocolate to cigars) at the shop counter. Tastings and private functions are held upstairs.
