Review on The Boat House

This unique and enchanting Victorian building beside the marina was once the harbourmaster's house, and has been transformed into a exciting modern restaurant - while retaining much of its historic charm. There are breathtaking views to be enjoyed, and visiting yachtsmen can take advantage of moorings just a stroll from the restaurant.

The kitchen makes good use of local ingredients - including seafood from the Atlantic, Lough Neagh and Belfast Lough - for menus with a contemporary slant. A salad of smoked eel, Pink Fir Apple potatoes, fennel and crispy Fermanagh bacon makes an intriguing starter, before pan-fried cod with noodles and Japanese broth or grilled ribeye steak with tomato and thyme jus and celeriac purée. The wine list focuses on the Old World, although there are also New World contenders to re-dress the balance.
