Review on The Albion
A flower-decked frontage and ivy-clad walls set the scene for this revamped eighteenth-century watering hole. Inside there's a warren of intimate wood-floored and panelled areas grouped around a central bar, while a big heated terrace under a huge parasol plus a vast garden complete with a weeping willow adds to the conviviality of the place.
Food is firmly in the current gastropub mould of smoked salmon with potato cake, roast mackerel with Jersey Royals and rhubarb crumble. Interesting guest beers and a useful choice of wines by the glass complete the picture.
