Review on Chez Manny
Chez Manny is a very popular French restaurant in the cobbled back streets of Battersea. Run by two brothers, Guillaume heads the kitchen while front of house is looked after by the ebullient Manny from whom the restaurant takes its name. Manny is also in charge of the restaurant's decor and the artwork adorning the walls changes every three months to feature a new artist and reflect the changing seasons. It is the perfect place to unwind with a glass of wine after work at the bar or on one of the comfy sofas.
The menu features many French classics drawn from family recipes and presented with a modern twist with seasonal ingredients sourced from local suppliers. Among the starters look for sautéed fresh scallops on a bed of salad and served with ginger and lemongrass jam or wild boar pâte served with port gelee before mains of roasted cutlet of pork with Dijon mustard sauce or sea scallops tagliatelle served with a creamy persillade. While desserts tempt with the likes of rosemary tart tatin with vanilla ice cream or chocolate brownie served with crème anglaise and orange caramel.
The wine list has more that eighty names and is an eclectic mix of international wines featuring both old and new world and Manny is more than happy to recommend a wine to complement your meal.
