Review on El Pirata de Tapas
In the two years since it opened in fashionable Westbourne Grove, El Pirata de Tapas has become a must-try restaurant in London's emerging Iberian scene and it attracts a cosmopolitan crowd who enjoy traditional Spanish cuisine in an enchanting neighbourhood ambience.
In 'Ramsay's Best Restaurants' El Pirata Detapas only narrowly missed out on a semi-final place, preparing some incredible cuisine throughout the competition, including an outstanding dish of pigs trotters, foie gras and jammon wellington with fig purée, braised pig tongues and cheeks. Spanish comfort food in the form of Serrano ham croquetas and authentic tortilla make any meal complete, while dishes such as pork cheeks or six hour roasted pork belly please the crowds who come back for more, time after time. Fine Spanish wines, brandies and liqueurs, and regionally inspired cocktails all further enhance the true Iberian flavour of this popular place.
