Review on Tedfords Restaurant
Built around 1843, Tedfords was originally a ship chandler's on Donegall Quay and it still keeps faith with its maritime past. The location is Langanside, just a few minutes walk from the Ulster Hall, the Odyssey Arena and the Waterfront Concert Hall, and the owners provide great deals for punters visiting the venues.
The restaurant operates on three levels: the ground-floor dining room is decorated in neutral tones with Gustav Klimt prints adorning the walls; upstairs are private dining areas done out to resemble the opulence of a luxury liner.
Fresh fish shows up prominently on the menus – witness crispy fried squid with Napa salad, lemon aïoli and sweet chilli, Dundrum mussels, grilled sea bass with pasta, chorizo, tempura of beans and basil bubbles or classic pan-roast turbot with scallops, buttered asparagus and hollandaise. Other options might range from crispy duck and shiitake mushroom spring rolls to certified Irish Angus beef with triple-cooked chips and béarnaise sauce.
