You wouldn't guess that this site near City Hall was once a linen mill: these days oriental calm meets high glamour in the vast dining room. A catwalk-style walkway, flanked by twinkling stalactite rope chains, leads to the intimacy of leather-clad booths, and eye-popping ultra-violet designs contrast with traditional décor.

The spectacular and beautifully furnished interior makes the perfect backdrop for innovative Japanese cuisine and the kitchen delivers a contingent of classic specialities, sushi, sashimi and theatrical teppan-yaki as well as modish fusion crossovers. For large celebrations, there's a private 'tatami' room where tranquillity reigns and you need to take off your shoes.
