One of the top places for Indian vegetarian and vegan food in Birmingham, Jyoti is a family-run business on the fringes of the city's famed 'balti triangle'.

The Jyoti thali offers the full works on a metal platter, or you can pick you way through authentic Gujarati specialities including highly praised masala dosas (stuffed rice-flour pancakes), chill paneer, pani puri and vegetable pakoras as well as assorted curries and traditional desserts.

Jyoti is unlicensed but you are welcome to bring your own alcohol; otherwise drink lassi. Prices are incredibly cheap and a calming, peaceful atmosphere prevails.
