Review on Thai Edge
This cool, contemporary Thai venue sits happily alongside the gastronomic competition in fashionable Brindleyplace. Inside, acres of white space and broken up by massive glass panels and mighty structures fashioned from interwoven wood; elsewhere purple is the chosen colour - apart from the costumes worn by ever-courteous waitresses.
The lengthy 145-dish covers a lot of ground and there's a full selection for vegetarians. Apart from satays, tom yum soup and regional curries, look for khor mou yang (char-grilled pork cheek), kai jeaw mou sab (Thai omelette) and goong pad bai kra prow (king prawns with snake beans).
Weekday 'express' lunches do the business, and on Sundays there a highly popular 20-dish buffet. To drink, go for Singha Thai beer or something from the short wine list. There are branches in New Portland Place, Leeds and The Old Brewery Quarter, Cardiff.
