Review on Feng Sushi
Part of a likeable mini-chain with six informal, café-style restaurants/takeaways dotted around the capital (visit their website for details), this branch of Feng Sushi is handily placed just a stroll from Borough Market.
The owners are extremely careful when it comes to sourcing fish: they only use sustainable yellow fin tuna, get their salmon from Loch Duart and procure mackerel from Cornish waters. Menus offer a wide range of nigiri and maki sushi, including a few interesting brown rice specialities. Added to that are fashionable sashimi, tempura, bento boxes and health-giving salads (including a version with soba noodles, rocket and pine nuts). Also look for the seasonal specials: winter might bring crispy soft-shell crab and vegetables in batter with fruity ginger dip or braised warm salmon with pickled bell peppers on rice.
Feng Sushi does a good line in takeaways and also runs a home delivery service (you can order online).
