Review on The Orangery Restaurant at The Old Vicarage Hotel
This former Edwardian vicarage is now home to a charming hotel and restaurant in a beautiful and peaceful setting. With 2 AA Rosettes to its name, the restaurant has been duly recognised for its modern, imaginative cuisine that makes very effective use of the raw ingredients that the richly fertile Shropshire area has to offer.
The restaurant itself is airy, light and spacious and has been tastefully designed within a conservatory with views over the hotel's grounds. As befits a restaurant of this class, service is attentive but not intimidating or intrusive. The wine list makes particularly interesting reading with eyebrow-raising choices at prices that aren't ridiculous.
