Review on Saagar Indian Restaurant
The Dublin outpost of Saagar occupies an unusual, historic building that was once home to Bram Stoker (author of 'Dracula'). The restaurant is in the basement of the old house that stands just off St Stephen's Green. Like its two siblings in Mullingar and Athlone, this branch of Sunil and Meer Kumar's culinary empire has acquired a reputation for genuine hospitality and consistently reliable Indian food based on genuine recipes and authentic ingredients.
The Kumar's extensive 80-dish menu embraces well-known curry house stalwarts like chicken dhansak, lamb vindaloo and king prawn biryani alongside specialities including Goan prawn curry (flavoured with coconut and tamarind), fiery chicken chilli fry cooked with green chillies and Malabar lamb.
