Review on The Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel
Just 20 minutes from Glasgow city centre, The Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel, formerly known as The Beardmore is a substantial modern hotel on the banks of the Clyde with superb leisure facilities.
Inside, the dining room is chic and spacious, with polished wood floors, well-spaced tables and walls decorated with contemporary artwork and mirrors. The kitchen works to a menu of assured contemporary dishes with French and Mediterranean overtones. To begin there could be roulette of smoked Ayrshire ham petit vegetable piccalilli or gin and beetroot cured salmon and cucumber dressing. Main courses usher in baked fillet of hake, curried mussel nage, wilted greens and crushed potato or from the land roast fillet of pork, crisp bayonne ham, purple potato, broccoli mousse and red wine just.
When it comes to desserts, you might fancy the medley of berries with Limóncello dressing and coconut ice cream or the ginger and vanilla posset. The well-spread wine list includes a decent choice by the glass.
