Review on Tuttons
Tuttons has reopened after an expensive refurbishment by celebrated interior designer Russell Sage, located on the east side of Covent Garden's historic Piazza opposite the Royal London Opera House. Featuring a classic interior with dark wood and red leather upholstery, mirrors adorning the walls and private dining available in the two vaults below the main restaurant. There is a large canopied al fresco dining area at the front of the restaurant to take in the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden's market, with patio heaters should it be a little chilly.
It is emphatically an all-day venue, kicking off with breakfast, moving through lunches and afternoon snacks to the evening a la carte menu, or just pop in for a relaxing drink.
The kitchen offers a classic English menu that focuses on seasonal dishes from carefully sourced products from Great British suppliers. So you can look forward to a starter of Yorkshire black pudding, Savoy cabbage and parchment bacon followed by a main course of pan fried fillet of sea bass, linguini of vegetables with a mussel, clam and saffron bouillabaisse. To finish there are desserts such as Yorkshire rhubarb and custard tart, ginger and vanilla Chantilly cream or a traditional sticky toffee pudding, paired with toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream.
There is an excellent wine list from around the globe together with a selection of beers and ciders, and a signature cocktail menu.
