Review on Dylanwad Da Restaurant
'Dylanwad Da' translates as 'good influence' and the punning name suits Dylan Rowlands' admirable bistro to a T. It's one of the most friendly and amicable places you could wish for - thanks to effervescent, energetic and good-humoured young staff.
This is an honest-to-goodness neighbourhood venue whose warm dining room is the setting for sound bistro cooking with a few modern accents. During the day (10am -3pm) Dylanwad Da functions as a coffee shop, but it puts on its glad rags once evening comes around.
Welsh beef and lamb are given classic treatment, but you might also notice chicken with spinach and coconut rubbing shoulders with Mediterranean fish stew. Seasonal blackboard specials like local crab, sea trout, wild mushrooms and venison are added to the regular menu, while desserts could range from rhubarb fool to apricot and almond tart.
Classic wines from France and Italy are matured in the restaurant's cellar, and the list is an eclectic slate from around the world - including many bottles imported directly by Dylan himself.
