Review on Old Fire Engine House
Originally built on the site of a farmhouse in the 18th Century, The Old Fire Engine House was converted in 1968 to offer traditional English food from local producers.
The old stone building still offers a quaint retreat for diners who appreciate freshly cooked meals using, wherever possible, locally sourced fish, game, meat, and vegetables. The menu is constantly changing due to the availability of local produce and to encompass seasonal variation thus ensuring dishes are packed with taste and freshness. There is an extensive wine list of about 60 bins to compliment the menu.
The Old Fire Engine House organises many art exhibitions throughout the year at their in-house gallery displaying pictures, paintings and sculptures which available for guests to peruse and purchase.
