Fantastic sea views over Maenporth Beach and Falmouth Bay are a great asset at Arty Williams' relaxed restaurant. The place has a laid-back, contemporary feel with clean-cut modern furnishings and a big patio area outside.
Cornish produce takes a front seat on the lively menu, which offers a mix of unfussy, on-the-button modern dishes. Seafood shows up in the guise of Falmouth Bay scallops with parsnip purée, pancetta and ginger salad or garlic-crusted cod fillet with creamy peas and spinach. Meat and game also make an impact with the likes of roast pork tenderloin with prune and Armagnac stuffing or venison medallions with a chicken and venison 'pattie' and rich onion compote.
Those with a sweet tooth can treat themselves to chocolate and Amaretti slice or rhubarb crème brûlée, and there's a separate 'tapas' menu for those who simply want to graze on anchovies, Thai fishcakes or meatballs in tomato sauce.
