Review on The Sandrock

The Sandrock is set in a pretty white building in a quiet residential area of Farnham in Surrey. This traditional ale house is owned by chef proprietor Carol Haime and her partner David Walton who have established a reputation for good food. There is a nice bar area with comfy sofas and wooden chairs and tables leading into the bright sunny dining room.

The kitchen uses local organic or pesticide free produce wherever possible for their regularly updated menu. As Carol is a vegetarian she works hard to ensure that there are a lot of unusual vegetarian dishes on the menu and a popular choice is vegetarian Wellington, tomato and basil pate, topped with spinach, herbs and mushrooms in puff pastry served with fresh vegetables and herb gravy. Elsewhere there could be whole roast pheasant, topped with apricots and smoked bacon, served with cranberry sauce, finishing with a white chocolate cheesecake, with a dark chocolate biscuit base and dark chocolate sauce and chocolate chips.
