Review on Copper & Spices
Copper & Spices opened in November 2013, located on Bouverie Road West a short stroll from the seafront in Folkestone, Kent, it also has a popular sister restaurant in the town of Navan in County Meath, Ireland. This attractive neighbourhood restaurant has been done out in warm vibrant Indian flag tones, tables are simply laid and walls are bedecked with colourful pictures depicting Indian scenes and people.
The food is a world away from the usual curry house stalwarts, with a menu reflecting the rich tapestry of the sub-continent, offering a wide range of culinary delights using the finest and freshest locally sourced ingredients from trusted suppliers. There are no artificial additives or colourings here, instead the kitchen uses freshly ground spices and top-notch raw materials. Kick off with Aloo aur Chole ki Chat, potatoes, chickpeas, fresh mint, coriander chutney and pomegranate seeds or Amritsari Macchi, fish fingers, chickpea flour, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, carom seeds and green chillies. Main courses usher in Boti Roganjosh, succulent lamb pieces with kashmiri chillies, yoghurt, ginger, garlic, cinnamon and coriander or from the sea choose Goan Macchi, Red Snapper fillet, carom seeds, tamarind, coconut powder, red chillies, tomatoes and cilantro.
There's an excellent wine list to complement dishes that are executed with great flavours, style, enthusiasm and passion.
