Yesterday (2nd September) we visited La Tavernetta in Folkestone for the first time. What a fantastic place this is. It was steak night and it was probably the best steak i've ever had. Service is fantastic, friendly, efficient, But the food was amazing. The steak was to die for. The puddings were amazing. Definitely will be visiting again.

disappointed
Booked a table for my wife & myself on a Saturday night, 8pm. All started well with friendly reception and warm atmosphere. The food quickly arrived but my wife and I both found the main (filet steak with "Madeira" sauce) disappointing. Similarly the dessert neither of us could finish. I understand from other reviews that folks come from miles around to eat here but on last nights evidence I'm baffled as to why.

Loved it.
Having a mini break in Folkestone and saw this gem in walking past. Booked for evening meal and was so happy that we did. Had a lovely set menu meal and can say we enjoyed every bite. It will be our first choice when next in town.

Fantastic Evening .....
What a lovely family-run restaurant! A real treasure - great food, lovely ambience and the owners and staff are truly amazing people, who ensure everyone is looked after and made to feel comfortable. Food is top notch - we were on a couples night out and will soon be taking our children back on a Sunday lunchtime as the restaurant is very family friendly. Can't fault it. 10/10!!
