Built by the shores of Lough Atalia and only a few minutes' walk from the centre of Galway, this ultra-modern hotel is fully equipped with state-of-the-art business facilities, a leisure centre and spa. The split-level Marinas restaurant is done out in maritime shades, with dark blue upholstery and walnut woodwork.
Seafood is the main attraction on the evening menu, with a host of piscine delights from Galway Bay oysters and lobster to wild salmon, mussels, scallops and red snapper. Typical offers might include smoked fish roulade, fillet of sea bass with saffron mash, and peppered rack of lamb with a Puy lentil ragoût, followed by desserts such as a timbale of chocolate with fruit compote. Sunday lunch is an ever-popular buffet.
Alternatively take advantage of the stunning Atrium bar/lounge, which is an ideal venue for cocktails, light lunches and afternoon teas; it's also great if you fancy a spot of sunset-watching from the heated terrace overlooking the lough.
