Review on La Cupula
La Cúpula is a landmark restaurant, located just behind the Sagrada Familia cathedral where diners can enjoy a pleasant evening surrounded by seven vintage Spanish and Swiss cars that are part of the restaurant's private collection. La Cúpula offers meticulously prepared and beautifully presented Mediterranean haute cuisine based on an outstanding selection of the best seasonal ingredients. Starters include grilled Asparagus with foie gras and crispy cheeks and sardine "coca", caramelised onion and braised "butifarra" sausage, other choices include pigs trotters stuffed with porcini mushrooms and king prawns with Provencal couscous, monkfish in squid ink with Bomba rice or fillet steak with foie gras and porcini cream. The desserts are all home made and include original creations such as honey and "matň" cheese with quince paste and walnut ice cream. La Cúpula offers a well stocked humidor and an extensive list of Spanish wines with some unusual bottles. The décor is warm and cosy and in the evenings diners can enjoy a lively meal accompanied by live piano music. The dining room can accommodate up to 100 people and the restaurant also has a number of private rooms each seating up to 15 people.
