Review on Catahoula's Grand Coteau
Enjoy a culinary excursion at Catahoula's Grand Coteau where dining is a true celebration of food's origins. Farm-fresh ingredients and local Louisiana seafood inspire a natural, elegant and quality-driven menu that traverses the line between refined and rustic. Menus honor local purveyors and the bounty that originates from our own farmstead. Catahoula's Grand Coteau is conveniently located off I-49, 15 minutes north of Lafayette and 10 minutes south of Opelousas. The town is noted for its majestic oak alleys with over 70 structures designated on the National Register of Historic Places. The restaurant's namesake is derived from the Louisiana state dog, a breed descending from the infamous War Dogs of Hernando de Soto's 1539 journey to the New World. Images of the Catahoula as well as native scenery take center stage in the renovated country store, complete with original wood flooring and picture windows framing serene oaks of St. Charles College.
