Review on Nuthurst Grange
A long-tree lined drive leads the way to this part-Edwardian manor house, which stands in more than seven acres of wooded grounds and landscaped gardens just off the M40.
The restaurant is the focal point of life at Nuthurst Grange, and the dining room provides a relaxed - yet quite formal - setting for intricately presented Anglo French food with lots of incidentals including pre-meal canapés, a mid-course sorbet and petit fours with coffee.
Menus follow the seasons, and a typical dinner might run along the lines of asparagus and crème fraîche soup with a buttered leek and truffle doughnut, then rack of lamb with chervil and rosemary mousse, tomato confit and poached morels or caramelised monkfish with confit belly pork, sautéed scallops and fish cream, before an assiette of pineapple or glazed lemon tart with an orange and sherbet sorbet.
