Bohemia occupies part of the ultra-fashionable Club Hotel & Spa – a contemporary townhouse close to Jersey's financial heartbeat – and it's making waves. The whole package 'single-handedly turns Jersey into a chic weekend-break destination', noted The Observer.
Rave reviews have come thick and fast, the critics love this restaurant and so do the guides. The dining room puts on an stylish show with its swathes of leather, dark wood, rich brown colours and elegant table settings, and the food is stunning. 'I was blown away!' noted one Mobile Food Guide reporter.
What this superstar delivers is top-end cuisine, with lots of little extras and additional courses fleshing out the fixed-price menu. You'll be offered tiny canapés, up to five different breads, pre-desserts and exquisite petit fours, in addition to the promised three courses. In all, it's a succession of outstandingly executed modern ideas and vivid new takes on the classics.
To begin, there might be pancetta-wrapped local scallops with quail's egg and pea salad and maple syrup emulsion, while main courses inhabit the heady world of braised lobster tail with fennel ceviche, homemade macaroni and a tiny salad of local crab or breast of 'poulet noir' poached in Sauternes with sautéed girolles, pea shoots and salsify. Desserts are equally breathtaking – perhaps lemon soufflé with cannelloni of espresso semi-freddo. The wine list impresses with its choice of fine vintages and intriguing bottles from small producers. Two new private dining rooms and a six-person chef's table in the hub of the Michelin-starred kitchen are recent additions.
