Review on Brunello Restaurant at the Baglioni Hotel
The Brunello Restaurant is housed in the luxurious five-star Baglioni Hotel in the heart of the city overlooking Hyde Park, and a short stroll from The Albert Hall. The dining room set off the lobby on the ground floor has a glitzy feel, with elaborate Murano glass chandeliers, sumptuous gold velvet and black silk drapes, smartly laid tables with enchanting views over Kensington Gardens.
The kitchen showcases Mediterranean cuisine with authentic ingredients sourced direct from Italy. Typical starters include beef bresaola served with rocket and parmesan or fish fans might opt for the marinated tuna with fresh grapefruit. Follow on with a main course of spaghetti with tomato sauce and basil or baby chicken "alla diavola" and roast potatoes. Close the show with desserts like homemade tiramisù or pannacotta, with melted chocolate. There is an impressive wine list to support the food, running to 500 bins including a precious vertical collection of Sassicaia wines.
