Review on Park Terrace Restaurant, Royal Garden Hotel
Famed as 'the international sportsperson's London hotel of choice', the legendary Royal Garden Hotel has hosted all manner of prestigious occasions and entertained celebs from all walks of life. The Park Terrace restaurant at lobby level makes the moist of its location directly opposite Kensington Palace Gardens.
It's an all-day, all-purpose venue that runs from classic breakfasts and a buffet, through keenly priced lunches (including traditional roasts on Sundays) to dinners with a modern European accent. There are also British specialities and an 'East comes to West' menu.
The full carte might open with organic beef carpaccio with wild rocket, Manchego cheese and horseradish oil or lobster ravioli with pak choi and ginger foam, ahead of seared line-caught mackerel with ecrasse potatoes, aubergine parcels and pesto dressing or rump of Suffolk lamb mille-feuille with warm French beans & mushroom salad. Bringing up the rear are inviting desserts such as strawberry cheesecake tart with basil ice cream or summer pudding with citrus yoghurt sorbet.
The prestigious site on the tenth floor of the hotel recently re-opened as Min Jiang, a spectacular dining room focusing on the cuisine of Beijing.
