Review on Shezan
Shezan is tucked away on Cheval Place, just around the corner from Harrods in prestigious Knightsbridge, a stalwart restaurant that has been serving the finest Indian and Pakistani cuisine since 1969. The main restaurant is located in the basement, a richly decorated room featuring a treasure chest of original Indian artefacts and antiquities, an ornate bar and walls adorned with Mughal paintings. Traditional music of Indian classics plays softly in the background adding to the ambience and they also present live jazz sessions on Friday evenings.
The kitchen uses the finest ingredients in its dishes that offer creative interpretations of traditional recipes, featuring ultra-fresh seafood, succulent spiced meats, as well as an extensive vegetarian menu. Signature dishes served sizzling from the tandoori charcoal grill include the chef's speciality lamb chops with a unique 9-spice blend, or a sharing mixed grill with tender chicken, lamb and tandoori fish.
Service is polite and knowledgeable and there is an extensive wine list to complement the dishes together with a well crafted cocktail menu.
