Review on Kveldsro House Hotel
The name Kveldsro means' evening peace' in Norse and this tastefully appointed modern hotel tries to live up to the name, with its relaxed vibes and personal service. You can choose to eat in the bar or in the Gallery Restaurant, where the food has a leaning towards island produce.
Fish naturally figures prominently, with the likes of pan-fried scallops (caught off Vidin) dressed with lime, chilli and coriander, crab and chive fishcakes, or grilled halibut with fresh strawberry salsa. Shetland lamb also shows up well (pâté with redcurrant jelly and oatcakes or grilled cutlets with spring onion mash). Vegetarians have a decent selection to choose from (perhaps wild mushroom risotto with garlic and saffron), while desserts might range from sticky toffee pudding to white chocolate and meringue cheesecake.
