Review on The Arundell Arms
The Arundell Arms is a former 18th century coaching inn on the Devon and Cornwall border, with an award-winning restaurant, hotel bar and village pub. The hotel is well-known for its use of locally-sourced ingredients and is a winner of the British Hospitality Association Food for the consistent promotion of local produce.
Lunch and dinner are served everyday, with the menu changing daily to reflect the seasonality of ingredients such as fresh fish and seafood from Looe and St. Ives, meats from local butchers and cheese from the award-winning Country Cheeses in Tavistock.
The Arundell Arms' restaurant is an elegant dining room that looks over the hotel's picturesque gardens and historic cockpit. Masterchef Steven Pidgeon and his team offer diners meticulously-prepared and beautifully-presented Modern British cuisine in the hotel's 2AA rosette restaurant with their popular three-course and à la carte menus.
Try the Cornish lobster ravioli to begin, before moving on to medallions of Devon beef and pork with purple sprouting broccoli and caramelised onions or a casserole of red mullet, scallops and sea bass. To finish, try the caramelised lemon tart with clotted cream or ask for the patisserie chef's assiette of desserts - truly delightful. The Arundell Arms' wine list is an extensive collection of wines from around the world and includes an excellent array of house wines, champagnes and a comprehensive selection from France.
Bar snacks and meals are also served in the hotel bar daily, with many guests choosing to enjoy lunch in the relaxing ambience of the bar or alfresco in the hotel's terraced and tranquil garden.
The Arundell Arms is also featured in: Michelin Guide, Good Food Guide, AA Guide
