Review on The White Hart Hotel, The Lincoln Grille
The White Hart Hotel is an intimate boutique hotel located in the heart of Lincoln's historical quarter and is home to The Lincoln Grille. There are splendid views of the cathedral's spires from the Grille itself, which is a casual contemporary mix of leather banquettes, exposed brick walls and a chic cocktail bar.
In charge of the kitchen is Michael House who previously worked for Raymond Blanc in the successful Brasserie Blanc in Leeds. The kitchen is keen to source locally and is an eclectic mix of interesting dishes, expect haddock and saffron risotto, soft poached egg with lemon butter sauce to start or mussels mariniere, garlic, shallots, finished with cream. Main courses embrace everything from grilled Loch Duart Salmon with tomato salsa to beef stroganoff or maybe Swiss chard wild mushroom lasagne or steak and chips from the grill. To finish try the brioche bread and butter pudding with crème anglaise and vanilla ice cream or lemon tart with raspberry sorbet.
