Review on Panoramic Restaurant 34
Currently scooping the title of 'England's highest restaurant', the aptly named Panoramic Restaurant 34, way up on the 34th floor of the Beetham's West Tower, promises visitors the prospect of 'dining in widescreen' with 360-degree, cinematic views of the Liverpool cityscape below.
It's an overtly swish and sleek place subtly decked out with neutral colours, soft tones and clean-lined furnishings, and the food hits the button with its vibrant modern European flavours. Expect the likes of cured mackerel, tomato, mozzarella and basil with parmesan or foie gras, sorrel, raspberries and toasted hazelnuts. Typical main courses that appear are halibut, chickpea falafel, chorizo, peas and clams or a medley of Cornish lamb, navarin of courgettes, peppers and broad beans and pomme Anna. Desserts are also pretty showy offerings along the lines of milk chocolate and hazelnut macaroon served with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream or orange and Cointreau baba with orange marmalade ice cream.
