Review on Zorbas
'There's no plate-smashing to worry about,' say the owners of this long-serving Greek restaurant, which has been run by Michael Haralambos and family for more than 30 years.
As the name suggests, the place is themed on the movie Zorba the Greek: every wall features a still from the film and the bar is designed to resemble an authentic Greek building. Vine-covered lattices hanging from the ceiling complete the effect.
A broad choice of starters takes in hummus, grilled Haloumi cheese and revthokeftedes (deep-fried courgette balls) as well as kalamiri and stuffed vine leaves. Kebabs and slow-cooked stews and casseroles such as beef stifado dominate the main courses, and there are sticky pastries and creamy sweets to finish.
