Review on Banthai Restaurant
An authentic Thai dining experience awaits you at The Banthai Restaurant in fashionable St Anne's. On the outside it looks like this restaurant was once a small, unassuming, traditional sweet shop. Within, the decor is modern, complete with comfortable chairs, laminate wooden flooring and Thai crafts. The friendly Thai and Asian staff add to the authentic experience.
The menus change in accordance with the seasons but one could typically start with the classic Thai fishcakes, or "Goon Tord" (king prawns in a special coconut tempura batter). Perhaps you might follow this with "Moo Prew Van" (pork cooked in a sweet and sour sauce with cucumber, tomato, onion and pineapple), or perhaps a beef stir fry, or a seafood dish, or you might rely on the nation's favourite dish, a Thai green curry, with your choice of chicken, pork, beef or prawns. There is also a comprehensive vegetarian menu. The wine list is short but decently priced.
Tuesday nights are buffet nights at The Banthai and here you can really get the most of the Thai experience by paying a flat rate of £10.99 to eat all you can! Booking is essential for the buffets.
