Review on The Cottage Restaurant at Ternhill Farm House
Michael and Jo Abraham's listed Georgian farmhouse stands in an acre of gardens and offers a tranquil retreat for visitors to the rural backwaters of Shropshire. Evening meals are served in the diminutive Cottage Restaurant occupying a courtyard at the back of the building, where oak beams, pine floors and a big inglenook fireplace set the scene.
Homegrown and local produce figure strongly in the kitchen, where Michael conjures up a range of distinctive dishes with global overtones. Duck breast is marinated in Chinese five spices and served with rösti, plum, garlic and sour cream sauce, while thyme and Parmesan-crusted sea bass fillet comes with warm broccoli and sweet pepper salad, chilli and sesame dressing. Vegetarians are well looked after, and the Abrahams are more than happy to cater for those with special dietary needs. Ternhill Farm House is now fully licensed.
