Review on Little Social
Riding high on the success of Michelin-starred Pollen Street Social, acclaimed chef Jason Atherton opened Little Social in March 2013, a Parisian style bistro just across the road from its sibling. Decked out with rustic wood tables and dark red banquette seating, large mirrors and prints adorning the walls, it has a cosy and welcoming vibe.
The kitchen serves affordable dishes showcasing classic and modern French cuisine using carefully sourced ingredients. The concise seasonal menu features starters in the shape of pork head and foie gras terrine, tea and prune puree served with toasted sourdough or grilled marinated salmon salad, sugar snaps, cucumber, watercress, and sorrel. Moving on, you could choose a main course of braised Irish ox cheek, marrow bone crumb, carrot and horseradish mash or roasted Cornish cod, squid and butterbeans, Spring cabbage and cabbage pesto. To finish there are tempting desserts such as hot chocolate moelleaux, sea salt and almond ice cream or a classic apple and blackberry crumble, mascarpone and cinnamon ice cream. There is a well thought out wine list to accompany the food together with a tasty cocktail menu.
