Review on Mehek
Mehek in Moorgate offers some of the finest and most breathtaking Indian cuisine in London and while Mehek means 'fragrance', it soon becomes clear that this is the byword here: previously a traditional Indian restaurant hidden away in a discreet location, it has now transmogrified into a thoroughly modern Indian eatery offering cutting-edge cuisine and is the most popular Indian Restaurant in the City.
Mehek has won several accolades for its superb food, friendly service and a pleasing approach to customers. The range of flavours in each dish will explore taste sensations you never knew existed before, and the presentation is beautiful. Even the decor complements the food: the walls are bold and bright, painted in a warm custard-yellow and terracotta, without being garish. The Raan-e-mehek (sliced roast leg of lamb marinated in Indian spices and cooked over a gentle flame in a rich onion and tomato gravy, flavoured with nutmeg) is one of many delightful dishes.
Located in the heart of the financial district, Mehek is the favourite of some of the top blue chip organisations and their regular guest list is embellished with the who's who of the corporate world. It is a great venue for larger parties and the restaurant offers different areas suited to different types of event and group size, from a canapι-nibbling bar to a more private and exclusive balcony at the back.
