Red 502 2000 Bourgogne Rouge £6.50 per 175ml glass Louis Jadot, France Full of light ripe fruits, this wine is vibrant and juicy. 802 2000 St Auguste £7.25 per 175ml glass Domaine de Triennes, Vin de Pays Var, France This estate in Provence has some serious pedigree behind it. Two of the owners are from Burgundy, Jacques Seysses (from Domaine Dujac) and Aubert de Villaine (from the fabled Domaine de la Romanée Conti). This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. A few years bottle age have softened the tannins and added complexity.

SPICY REDS 702 2003 Primitivo di Puglia £23.50 A Mano, Puglia, Italy Puglia is the heel of the boot of Italy and until recently turned out little wine of interest. Now a combination of old vines and better wine making is producing some of the world's great wine bargains. Primitivo is one of the local grapes and makes big spicy, leathery wines. 705 2003 Côtes du Rhône Vinsobres £29.50 Domaine Chaume Arnaud, Rhône Valley, France Bright and fruity with exuberant notes of cherries and cranberries. Crisp and fresh with tannins emerging on the finish. 708 2004 Crozes Hermitage "Vielles Vignes" £32.00 Domaine du Murinais, Rhone Valley, France 709 2001 Clos Poggiale (Syrah/Niellucciu) £34.00 Corsica, France Robert Skalli is responsible for one of the better large brands in the Languedoc. With this his first release from Corsica he has set his sights considerably higher. A blend of Syrah and a local grape Niellucciu it is full of warm red fruits and spices. 711 2001 Bandol £36.50 Domaine la Suffrène, France Bandol is a region in southern France andis currently turning out some of the country's finest value wines.
