Review on Low Wood Hall Hotel
Built in the 1860s for a local brewer and his family, Low Wood Hall is blissfully secluded in a remote Lakeland valley. The house is surrounded by delightful landscaped gardens and still has many of its original Victorian features including magnificent stained glass windows above the entrance hall, tiled floors and marble fireplaces – as well as 'gasolier' lighting in the lounge.
Evening meals are served by candlelight in the split-level restaurant overlooking the grounds. Typical dishes from the familiar international repertoire might include Caesar salad, pork chop with cider sauce and desserts such as bread-and-butter pudding.
