Review on Thailand
Ignore the unprepossessing location and focus on the food in this canteen-style Thai restaurant, which has been serving New Cross admirably for a good many years. The kitchen delivers a modest menu of authentic Thai food plus some fascinating Laotian specialities - including classic versions of 'laab' (salads involving minced meat with crispy ground rice and herbs).
Among the mainstream offerings, expect well-executed standards such as tom yum soup, red duck curry, char-grilled beef wrapped in betel leaves and such like. Portions are generous, prices are low and the early-evening set menu (5.00 - 7.00pm) is unbeatable value at around £4 for two courses.
