Review on Vermont Hotel, The Bridge Restaurant
'The whole Vermont experience is exceptional,' noted one Mobile Food Guide reporter. Originally the old County Hall building, next to the Castle and close to the trendy Quayside, this high-class luxury hotel has been described by Condé Nast Traveller as 'an independently owned Manhattan-style 1930s tower with traditional and contemporary plush interiors'.
The Bridge Restaurant is located at the Castle Garth level with spectacular views, while The Blue Room offers more intimacy. Fixed-price lunch and dinner menus offer straightforward modern European dishes such as roasted pepper and potato terrine with thyme crème fraîche, crispy duck with chive mash and desserts like chocolate and hazelnut sponge with caramel ice cream.
Light meals and drinks are also served in The Redwood Bar until the early hours, while Martha's Bar and Courtyard is a popular hangout for young city revellers.
