Review on Park Farm Country Hotel
Hidden away in 200 acres of Norfolk countryside between Norwich and Wymondham, this well-equipped hotel actually started life as agricultural dwellings, and the restaurant occupies what was the original Georgian farmhouse. It's been carefully updated with colourful canvases on the walls, an impressive orangery-style roof and views of the gardens from its windows.
The kitchen works to fixed-price menus for lunch and dinner, with typical dishes such as Brie and broccoli parcels on caramelised onion chutney, baked lemon sole with squid and Mediterranean couscous, and chicken breast wrapped in smoked bacon with chorizo. Straightforward grills are also available, plus desserts including almond cheesecake with Amaretto ice cream.
