The letters of the fashionable lower-case logo stand for 'eastern' and 'oriental', which gives a good idea of the gastronomic theme behind this glitzy, gorgeous-looking Notting Hill rendezvous. Media celebs and star-watchers crowd into the throbbing bar and sparsely decorated dining room for serious socialising and glamorous encounters, all accompanied by tiny dishes that look almost too good to eat. 'Graze, share and be thrilled' is the message.
The kitchen pumps out a compendium of pan-Asian/fusion ideas based on authentic ingredients (check the food glossary on the back of the menu if you are puzzled by the names). Conventional starters and main courses are replaced by different stylistic categories like dim sum (date and water chestnut gyoza dumplings), salads (duck with watermelon and cashews), sushi rolls, curries (lamb rendang with sweet potato) and BBQ/roasts including the now-ubiquitous, Nobu-inspired black cod in sweet miso.
